Bower Power Spring Photo Challenge

Some of these spring pictures have already been seen in other posts but I wanted to gather all my favorites in one post for this challenge! I have been a fan of Katie's blog for almost 2 years now! Here is the link to her Spring Photo Challenge!

I just love all these photos!

Awesome Trip Down A "Rabbit Hole"

The funniest thing just happened. I was looking through the other links on Joyce's Wednesday Hodgepodge which I love and clicked on Just Simply Linda and fell in love with her cozy little blog! She reminds me of what I want my blog to be, a little bit of everything, but I love the chit chat type of posts like hodgepodge and Ashley's Social Sunday that people link up to but so far I had only been able to find those two. I am not sure if I am looking in all the wrong places or what but those kind are hard to come by. I wish I had a different one to link up with for every day of the week. Yes, I know that was an extremely long run-on but sometimes that's just me! =) Anyway, I saw that she participates in one I had never seen before!! I am super excited to have found 2 awesome new things in one day!

So here goes! This is linking up to Chats on the Farmhouse Porch with Everyday Ruralty

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Happy Wednesday! I am joining up with Joyce again! You should go check her out and all the others that link! I love seeing other answers to the questions!

Saturday Special

Hello Saturday! I love you! I also love The Vampire Diaries! Sometimes these will be really in-depth and sometimes they will be short and straight to the point. Like today lol.

Do you watch this show? What do you think about it? I would love to know!

Office Improvement

We have all had that feeling where an area just isn't working out for our needs anymore and we just want to refresh and update and brighten! Right? I'm sure I'm not the only one.

When we moved in, I had my "office" in the smallest room of the house and at first it worked out. Sadly, I don't really have any before shots of that room as the office. But after I put another table in there so that the girls could come in and do crafts and home work and all that stuff with me, it became too cramped to do anything or be able to move around. So I moved it into a bigger bedroom that was being used as mostly storage. I went through all the stuff that was the "storage" and got rid of what we didn't need or found better places for the other things and moved everything in the bigger room and it's working out sooo much better! Not only is there room for everything but there is added room for a loveseat and TV set-up for movies and video games and cuddling in our own little "family/craft/office room"

If Money Was No Object: Kitchen

*I am in no way affiliated with Target, I just LOVE that store.

It's always fun to window shop, and the best way to window shop is on the internet! I am in the process of revising our full "House renovation/update to do/wish list". That's a mouth full. Just like what John & Sherry did here.

But before I do that, I thought it would be fun to look through Target's amazing selection of decor for a basis of what I would love to do for each room and maybe slowly pick up a piece here and there. That's really the only way you can do it now a days without dropping a TON of money, even though I am very selective in the things we buy for the house and DIY or create my own versions or items when I can! Some more examples of that are herehere and here to show a few!

So here is a mood board of my Target kitchen finds! I will recap them all below that!

Glitter Eggs

Last night my mom came over and me, her and the girls worked on decorating Easter eggs! I got the glitter egg idea from a wonderful blogger I recently found Dugans InCahoots but let's just say, ours didn't turn out nearly as glamorous! And that's totally ok! I was going to glitter the hard boiled eggs but then was thinking it would have been too hard to get the glitter off of the egg after cracking it because I'm sure it would have gotten all over it. So I was talking about it on the phone to my mom and she said, why not glitter some plastic ones and we can still dye the real ones and then you can have the glitter ones to sit out every year. I don't know why I didn't think of that to begin with.

A-Z Blog Challenge: Letter M

I am participating in the A-Z Blog Challenge

I have been using this challenge to list some things that can let you know more about me, for anyone who doesn't know.

My word today is going to be Magazines!

I don't think a lot of people know that I am a huge fan of them! I have been ever since I was little. Just something about those fresh glossy pages full of all kinds of goodness. I can have a magazine and never get tired of it. Sometimes me and the girls grab one and get a pen and we play a little game where you go through and pick only 1 item from each page that you would pick if you could have that item and circle it. It ends up being pretty funny especially when there are more than one thing on a page that you love! It can be a shirt someone is wearing or their shoes, etc. My all time favorite one that I have a subscription to is HGTV. I have read every issue since it came out and I think that magazine is far above the others in quality and the ideas they give out!

Some others that I still really enjoy are:

Better Homes and Gardens
Fresh Style
Organizing
US Weekly
In Touch
(yes I love the gossip magazines too! lol)
Entertainment Weekly
Country Weekly
People

I could probably keep going.

What are your favs? Do you have any subscriptions still in this web based world we live in?

A-Z Blog Challenge: Letter L

I am participating in the A-Z Blog Challenge

Today is LEGOS!!

Everyone in my family loves Legos! Right down to the kittens who love pawing at them!

My husband collected Legos when he was a little boy and still has all of his sets all labeled and ready to put back together at any time! I try to buy a little something to add to their collection a could times a month because they are always fun!

We went to see the Lego movie last month and it's amazing of course. I don't think they could have done a better job at all! After the movie, I fell in love with the characters and have been having some fun with Emmet, the main character! Here are some of his adventures for your enjoyment lol!!

Who knew a tiny Lego man could be/have so much fun? LOL!

Opa's Birthday Celebration!

...aka swing set surprise...aka...our first official get together at the new house!

We had such a great weekend! The weather was wonderful! Saturday Kacey and I took turns cutting the grass for the first time this year. I say take turns because the yard is so big that he can mow for about 2 hours and needs to be done and same for me so I take over for the next 2 hours and finish it up. It's a good system and I may be weird but I looove cutting the grass! You can read more about that here.

Sunday everyone came over and brought the swing set that Opa hand built for the girls. To say the least, it is beyond special to us! The girls had a fit over it and always can't wait to get back outside and play on it! Lily and I are sitting in the house right now though because it's rainy. boooo!! We want to play on the new toy!!

Once she realized what it was, she was sooo excited!

As my girls get older, they start developing the Pierce Freckles on their noses, I am in love with it.

This is everyone making things with clay while waiting for the swing set to get finished. My awesome sister in laws even made me some owls that I can treasure forever!

Lily just couldn't help herself, she just had to climb on it just once while waiting.

Opa carrying shingles around fighting the wind and about to fly away lol.

And the adults had to try it out too of course!

Oma made this awesome sign!

Finally time to play!!

It was a great day!

And the best picture of the day!
How awesome is Opa?
He sure is loved!

K

I am picking kittens!

Last November we went and rescued 2 little kittens and since then, I never realized just how much of a cat person I am! I loooove them! They are so funny and cuddly and adorable!! We named one Katiss, because of being a cat of course and from The Hunger Games and the other is Figaro because she is black and has a little white patch on her chest and that is what Minnie Mouse's cat is!
I love dogs but will now always prefer cats first!
